Anna Dolgareva
God save you. Save you God
From bullets, drones and meanness.
I pray and quietly nod
To icon - old and gleamless.
I'm keeping silence about you from day to day.
The flowers, colored black, have spouted on the minefields.
The meadows and the forests, too - all have that black yields:
The mortar-made round shelling prints won't fade away.
God save you. Save you God -
We are to save each other,
No matter, that I'm not
A wife to you, nor mother.
Don't talk to me right now, just hold me by the hand.
The crimson sunset spills above Volchansk so slowly,
The sky is purple, and you'll watch it huge and wholly,
As soon as blazing fires cease to fall on land.
God save you. Save you God.
There's no much I can offer....
The winds - so dry and hot -
Blow sullenly all over.
The black, the eyeless wave is rolling down the hopes.
Forgive me being so ridiculous and reckless.
The holy silence will be infinite and speckless,
The day the war is over and the thunder stops.
